Framing similar issues differently: a comparative analysis of Dutch and Iranian news texts

In this study, the concept of framing is applied in order to show differences conception crime events genre news texts across socio-cultural contexts. Three aspects at thematic, lexical and syntactic level are defined: occurrence, marked description prominence and, accordingly, a corpus one hundred crime-news articles Dutch Iranian national newspapers analyzed. Taking systematic replicable approach, it was found that narratives two countries frame crime-related different ways with regard representation participants, actions circumstantial elements.
